ITS 2 BLOCKS FROM GROUND ZERO WHO CARES !!!!!!!!!

I believe that this is america is it not. If so why are we opposing a muslim worship center at ground zero. It was not the entire religion that bombed us on 9/11 it just so happened that the group that committed the terrorist acts were muslim. So the people who are opposing are bigots is this not the land of the free. I'm just saying we are all fucking immigrants get over it fuck heads. America is the land that is occupied by people from everywhere race color creed you can find them all here so shut your your fucking pie hole nobody fucking cares. Except for club bigot.

I AM SAYING THIS AS AN AMERICAN FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT EAT MY ASS WITH A GOLDEN SPOON AND CUP MY BALLS. IF YOU WANT TO CALL ME UN-AMERICAN GO AHEAD SAY IT TO MY FACE...........

I am just saying this crap has gone on long enough and this country is losing touch with its origin and way of life in which it had began and where it started. We promised land of opportunity and land of the free we promised jobs and a new start. So where is that thinking now why are we not allowing the new start for the muslims or dreams or opportunity i'm just saying this is messed up.

MAC VS MILLER FOR ETI

MACINTOSH
MILLER

For the last few months and even during Paramedic class i fell in love with macintosh blade for intubation and that is how my many intubations in the last 16 months have been until today. The mac blade is a fantastic tool but with most things in EMS we are taught that things especially that medicine is not black and white it is gray. This means that things are never the way they are in the text books like every tool there is a time and a place and today there was certainly a tool for the job. Macintosh blades are fantastic and they serve there purpose and in most cases are great until you get a pt with a very small oropharynx. This pt's mouth was as wide as a mac and i knew that it would never work i even picked up a smaller blade than i was going to use and it was still as wide as his mouth so i knew that i was dead in the water with the mac. So i had to do what every good Paramedic would do and i changed something i grabbed the miller 3 i had never used one on a live pt so i put it on the light was bright white and tight and i selected the proper tube that i had already pulled out and it was all set to go and i had my back up airway out and suction under the right shoulder and on. So we were all set to go so i then put the laryngoscope in his mouth sweeping right scooped the tongue and swept left and buried the blade in the esophagus and started to pull back and there it was. A text book picture of the vocal cords nice and white. I grabbed my ETT and slide it in paced the black marks and inflated my cuff and began to ventilate with += chest rise and fall and + moisture in the tube with present upper and lower breath sounds bilaterally with negative epigastric sounds placed my capno on the tube with a beautiful capno wave and good readings on the monitor. This intubation couldn't have gone smoother. I then secured my tube with a tube holder and rechecked lung sounds airway secured. So again this is up to the AlS techs decision but there is a time and place for tools and sometimes we have improvise, adapt, and overcome for the best outcome for the pt's that we care for. This is not only for intubation this goes for many things. As a Paramedic it is your job to make sure that the pt is getting the best care at the time of the call not only do you have to worry about you are doing you also have to worry about everything that is going on at the scene of that call and make sure that it is under control while you are also trying to save the life of the person and there family friends and loved ones that are relying on you to save them. This is why making sure that you have the proper equipment and make sure all equipment is in working order before every call. This part is not just that of the ALS tech but the BLS tech as well is the BLS equipment ready to go. BLS before ALS you cant save someone without BLS first.

This is what i want to do for a while!!!!!

I became a paramedic about 15 months ago now and i love it. I have been doing ems for almost 8 years to the day now and the volly dinger in me has not changed. I often say i want to go to school and find a new career choice but there is that little piece of me that screams you know that you love your job. It is very true i think that this is what i am supposed to do when i grow up. EMS there is a lot to be said for this topic it is a beast like no other. It has very many angles per say you never know what you are going to get and that is probably the one thing that i like the most no two calls are ever the same. I love the adrenaline the hard work and most of all taking care of the sick and the injured. Sometimes i worry about money and we all know that in EMS there is not a lot of that lol which is also the reason many paramedics have multiple jobs. I think that i need to do this for a bit longer i love what i do and i have plenty of support from the one person that matters most she is incredible and she loves what i do. Everyday that i go to work no matter how tired i am because i just worked a whole weekend or whatever i always give 110% to every pt i come in contact with. I think that i need to go to flcc and finish my degree in paramedicine and then take some classes in emergency management. I love my job and this is my life and this is what i do. I love taking care of pts and that is the way i like it so i think that i want to do this for a bit.

More ems posts to follow..............................

STUPIDITY = JOB SECURITY !!!!!!

Sometimes in this line of work we encounter some pretty special people often some of the brightest crayons in the box. Or people that you think may be the dumbest person you have ever met but just when you think that. There is somebody else that is even dumber. The things that people do for an ambulance is sometimes mind numbing. I wonder what they are thinking most of the time when the ambulance shows up and they suddenly realize they done fucked up. Just recently my company got dispatched for the guy with his hand stuck behind the couch and he couldn't get it out i know i know how do you get your hand stuck in a couch. Well apparently he went to reach as far as he could behind the couch and when he did that his chest put enough pressure on the back of the couch and he got stuck. But its ok the FD and EMS got him free. Its thing like this that make me smile and make come back to work every day for more. Or when drunk severely intoxicated people try to resist arrest then they get tazed or pepper spayed and then the trip and fall on the sidewalk its always amusing. I love my job and there is never a dull moments if it wasn't for stupidity i would be out of work............... SO THANKS FOR DOING STUPID RIGHT !!!!!!!!!!

sincerely this PARAMEDIC

LIFE AND EMS............

My life yeah I think that we'll start off with that I like how thats sounds. So currently operation MOOSE is in full swing i have many big plans in the near future. I have been working many hours and i have met many interesting people more so at metro I guess. Some times we get comfortable and we forget that there are just some crazy people out there I have recently been on a few calls that made me say WTF is wrong with you. Just when you think it can get any crazier some crazy asshole has an anxiety attack after his girlfriend shoved a dildo up his ass. It makes you think about the future of this planet and what kind of fucked up people share the streets with us. Some times you think you've seen it all and then shit like that happens. Other than that call nothing to crazy it been average for calls and your everyday transfers. Im currently switching from nights to days for well a few reasons but really just one I LOVE MY NIP. It will be better for many reasons I will only be working sundays mondays tuesdays and every other wednesday. I will then get every friday and saturday off and be able to enjoy what i have at home and just spend a lot of time making up for lost cuddle time.

THE BLACK CLOUD

So i'm pretty sure the black cloud is here to stay.......................... the last two weeks of my paramedic career have been pretty amazing and i'm not sure how i feel about that. Being a PARAMEDIC has its ups and downs but i love my job and you cant save them all. My job is pretty much hours of boredom followed by minutes ofsheer terror there is really no other way to put that. This job is amazing and even though it doesn't pay well i love it and i wouldn't do anything else with my life i am happy for now. i do it as much for free as i do to get payed.

I am very happy that i finally have an amazing girlfriend that understands my job and is involved with ems and loves it as much as i do and she makes me very happy and i am very happy with my life. Catherine you are amazing and i love you. cant wait to see you.
